BOTOX Cosmetic therapy in Kelowna works best for those skin lines that are caused by muscle movement. BOTOX Cosmetic works to reduce your frown lines by keeping muscle inactive. Since these muscle no longer cause skin to move and wrinkle, over time, as your skin rejuvenates itslef naturally, your skin will look smoother and more refreshed. BOTOX Cosmetic has been used with increasing frequency by doctors for over twenty years for an ever increasing number of applications.
BOTOX Cosmetic is a natural product. BOTOX Cosmetic is purified as a very small protein which is made from naturally occurring bacteria. If you are looking for a natural product, this is it, there are no man-made chemicals in Botox, just what mother nature intended. All we do to make your BOTOX Cosmetic forumulation is we dilute the protein in some saline (salt water that is the same concentration as your blood) and then inject it. Nothing could be easier or simpler.

BOTOX Cosmetic works by inhibiting the release of Acetylcholine(ACh) from the nerve terminal that attaches to the muscle. Basically, the muscle does not get the signal to contract so it stays at rest and as a result, you will have smoother skin. As your skin rejuvenates itself, your skin will become smoother and smoother over time because there is little to no muscle activity underneath.
The answer to this question is yes! BOTOX Cosmetic treatment is well established worldwide. BOTOX Cosmetic has been used safely and successfully in ophthalmology(eye disease) for over 30 years, and for wrinkle therapy for over 10 years. In the amounts used for wrinkle therapy, the most common side effects, such as bruising, are unrelated to the BOTOX Cosmetic itself and are localized in the area of injection. No pre-testing is required. We normally have our patients return to the clinic in Kelowna for follow-up after treatment to make sure your Botox is working properly.
The advantages are numerous. This is an exceptionally safe, non-surgical procedure. Side effects are infrequent, and patients can return to their everyday activities immediately. BOTOX Cosmetic will not hamper future cosmetic treatments should a person elect to have other procedures, for instance even plastic surgery, in the future.
In the case of BOTOX Cosmetic, bruising can occur at the injection site. This is temporary and unrelated to the medicine itself. Allergic reactions to BOTOX Cosmetic have never occurred, and as such, it is exceptionally safe when used properly by an experienced physician. I can't stress enough how fantastic the results are with Botox, it is simply a marvellous treatment that benefits everyone who suffers from dynamic lines and wrinkles of the face.
With BOTOX Cosmetic and Juvederm Injectable Gel, the results of the treatments are similar in that they both work to reduce wrinkles and smooth the skin's appearance.
There are other similarities as well: both are administered by injection and both are non-surgical procedures. Neither requires anesthesia and the results are seen quickly. The procedures take only a few minutes, and the results can be dramatic.
However, BOTOX Cosmetic and Juvéderm Injectable Gel (Fillers) are very different products. BOTOX Cosmetic is a much-diluted form of the protein, botulinum, a neuro-modulator that is injected into the muscles of wrinkled areas. At the injection site, those muscles are relaxed, resulting in smoothing of facial lines. BOTOX Cosmetic is an excellent choice around the eyes for frown lines and crow's feet, and on the forehead. It can also be used in the lower facial area, but this should only be done by an experienced and well-trained injector.
While BOTOX Cosmetic is very effective on the upper part of the face, the lower half is where Juvéderm Injectable Gel is usually the best choice. With this treatment, the filler is injected around the outline of the lips so fine lines are reduced. Vertical lines and smile lines can be treated within minutes.
FDA approval of BOTOX Cosmetic may be reassuring for patients who have been reluctant to try it in the past. With the increased media attention coming from the approval, we are seeing a dramatic surge of patients seeking BOTOX Cosmetic treatment.
If you have not yet had a consultation, your treatment may be anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. If you are coming in for a follow-up BOTOX Cosmetic treatment, you will be here for 10 to 15 minutes. BOTOX Cosmetic treatments in Kelowna are quick and painless, the perfect lunchtime appointment!
