Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvéderm Injectable Gel Ultra, Ultra Plus and Voluma offer a safe and effective non-surgical option for softening fine lines and wrinkles and restoring lost volume. In fact, they make up the fastest growing nonsurgical aesthetic procedure in North America according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. But all dermal fillers are not the same!

Sun exposure, hormonal changes and aging can all have an impact on your skin’s appearance. Over time, your skin begins to lose hyaluronic acid and collagen, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and a loss of fullness and elasticity. Healthcare professionals now can correct wrinkles and folds and add volume to sunken skin, reversing the signs of aging.
Refresh What Nature Gave You
Luckily, now there's Juvéderm Injectable Gel, a soft replenishing injectable gel. Made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar found in your body, it adds volume to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, thinning skin and lips. Hyaluronic acid injections have also been shown to stimulate collagen production. Best of all, the results are instant and natural-looking, there’s no downtime and it has been demonstrated to be safe for all skin tones.
If you're considering a Juvéderm Injectable Gel treatment, you should know the advantages of choosing Juvéderm Injectable Gel soft replenishing gel filler:
A "next-generation" filler. Juvéderm Injectable Gel is a "next-generation" non-animal dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid — a naturally occurring substance that plays a vital role in hydrating your skin and replenishing its natural volume. No allergy skin tests are needed prior to receiving treatment.
Immediate results. You will see an instant improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients require only one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing or volume enhancement and results last up to 1 year*, longer than other HA dermal fillers.
Take comfort in Juvéderm Injectable Gel. Now new Juvéderm Injectable Gel with lidocaine lets you feel good before, during and after your Juvéderm Injectable Gel treatment. The addition of lidocaine, an effective localized pain reliever, to the Juvéderm Injectable Gel formula, provides an injection experience that’s gentle and comfortable. Juvéderm Injectable Gel is the only hyaluronic acid dermal filler to include lidocaine.
We’re glad you asked! Four easy answers.
It’s long-lasting.
JUVEDERM is the ONLY hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved* to last up to one year with one treatment (did we just say a year?). That’s right, up to a year.
It’s smooth and more comfortable.
Not all HA dermal fillers are created equal. Only JUVEDERM is so smooth. Other hyaluronic acid fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels, but our unique manufacturing process (HYLACROSS™) creates a smooth-consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know)!
Did we mention it’s more comfortable than previous JUVEDERM formulations?
JUVEDERM injectable gel is now formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic used to improve the comfort of treatment.
It’s safe and effective for different skin types.
JUVEDERM injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with JUVEDERM showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
It’s personalized.
One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to wrinkle treatment. A customized treatment plan is important for achieving the best results. That’s why JUVEDERM is available in two formulations, JUVEDERM Ultra XC for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and JUVEDERM Ultra Plus XC, a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and facial wrinkles. This allows your healthcare professional to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs.
There are plenty of dermal wrinkle fillers on the market today, but we think you’ll agree JUVEDERM XC is special. (After all, there’s a reason JUVEDERM is the #1 selling dermal filler in the U.S.).
For a smooth, comfortable experience combined with long-lasting results, don’t wait - ask your doctor about JUVEDERM treatment today.

Because JUVEDERM is a simple, nonsurgical wrinkle treatment*, there is minimal recovery or downtime (and the results are instant!). So you can make an appointment to stop by your healthcare professional's office for treatment on the way home from work or the gym, or even while the kids are at soccer practice—and get right back to your daily routine. Here's what to expect when you visit your healthcare professional's office for treatment.
Before you Go
Some doctors recommend that you avoid any medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs), for at least a week prior to receiving the treatment for wrinkles in order to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site. This is normally not necessary. Dr. Crippen will assess you at the time of treatment.
When you Arrive
If this is your first visit, your healthcare professional will ask about your medical history, including any allergies you may have or medications you may take, and will tell you more about treatment with JUVEDERM injectable gel.
Determining Your Needs
If your physician determines that JUVEDERM is right for you, he or she will then examine the soft tissue of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds to determine your treatment for wrinkles. JUVEDERM is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, (such as nasolabial folds). JUVEDERM injectable gel is available in two formulations—JUVEDERM Ultra for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds in the skin, and JUVEDERM Ultra Plus, a robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles in the skin. This allows your healthcare professional to better tailor treatment to your unique skin volume needs. They may even take pre-treatment photographs so you can see the difference after receiving the treatment!
The Treatment
Anesthetic may not be needed prior to treatment since JUVEDERM is specially formulated with lidocaine (a type of anesthetic) to improve comfort during treatment. Your physician may also elect to use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area before the injections. Your healthcare professional will then ease the JUVEDERM under your skin (where wrinkles and folds occur) to replace lost skin volume. Following the injection, your healthcare professional may gently massage the treated areas. The procedure is quick and easy and the results are instant! The injection itself usually takes only about 15 minutes.
Post-treatment
You should avoid the following for at least 24 hours after treatment:
Strenuous exercise
Consumption of alcoholic beverages
Extended exposure to sun or heat
You may experience pain, tenderness, temporary redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, and bumps at the injection sites. Studies have shown that these are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7 days or less. If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can apply an ice pack for a brief period.

You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one injectable dermal filler treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing and improve skin volume. Just one treatment with JUVEDERM can smooth away your wrinkles for up to 1 year! However, results from injectable dermal fillers may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal correction of your wrinkles and folds.
